The Scenic Route

Designer Statement: 

This was my first design post high school with no training as a designer and simply the good faith of my professor and director and some simple communication tools we created this stunning concept for Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House". 

​

Conceptually the idea was that the world was picture perfect and plastic like Barbie's Dream House. Yet as the show continues, through use of clever lighting, the saturation of the pop-y pinks and happy colors of her plastic paradise would become dingy and break the picture perfect facade. Complete with spunky Barbie-like costumes devolving into drab reality.
